Start-ups to get 100 free booths at the AIBCsummit
Start-up Village will support innovation and deep tech
Following the monumental success of the Malta A.I. and Blockchain Summit 2018, this year’s show is handing out 100 free booths to innovative start-ups within the A.I., BC, Quantum Tech, IOT and big data sector for its May edition.
The initiative, called Startup Village, will comprise of an area supported by Malta Enterprise, where eligible start-ups are given a booth for free.
This highly coveted place ensures a free one-by-one metre booth, free passes to the summit and networking events, print and online media opportunities, and free consultancy and potential leads from high-flying industry veterans and thought leaders. A.I. start-ups will also be vying for a place amongst the top ten successful start-ups to be selected to participate in the A.I. Pitch, where they’ll compete live on stage in front of a panel of judges, investors and the audience.
The next show will be held at the Hilton Malta, from the 22nd to the 25th of May. The luxury location ensures a continued commitment to the high quality seen at last year’s event, which premiered in November. Esteemed guests, such as the Hon. Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat and Junior Minister for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation, Silvio Schembri, add prestige to an unmissable event on the A.I. and blockchain calendar.
The 2018 Start-up Village saw no less than 40 start-ups from across the globe flock to Malta. Due to the overwhelming amount of applicants, the AIBC is eager to up the game for May 2019 by increasing the free slots to one hundred start-ups.
“We had an overwhelming feedback from all the disruptive startups that we welcomed to claim their free booth last year. However, as we had so many interesting and promising projects that we could not accommodate in the fierce competition of the available space that we had, we are happy to increase to one hundred free booths this year to boost innovation and facilitate connections between startups and investors so that A.I. and Blockchain can flourish. We believe strongly that business is not done between companies, it is done between people,” says Eman Pulis, Founder of the Malta A.I. & Blockchain Summit.
Valerio Gallitto from Greenspider, one of the participating startups in the Startup Village in November 2018, won the award IoT of the Year, read about his win here.
